Position Details
There are three parts to the fellowship: preparation, on-site work, and partner-chapter connecting.
Preparation:
- Involves researching the region where the trip will take place, selecting the countries to which the fellows will be traveling, finding and connected with potential partner and feeder organizations, and logistical planning.
- Takes place between September-December, prior to the on-site component of the fellowship.
- Is done remotely and requires good access to phone and internet capabilities and around 5-10 hours of work per week.
- This portion of the fellowship is unpaid.
On-Site Work:
- Traveling to the countries determined during the fellowship preparation to meet with potential partners and feeders to discuss GlobeMed and the possibility for collaboration.
- Involves working every day for GlobeMed, frequent travel between areas within countries, diligent note-taking and communication with the National Office, strict budget management and a really positive attitude (full of GlobeMed Love!).
- This portion of the fellowship will be between 2-4 months long.
- This portion of the fellowship is stipended with living and travel expenses covered, but without a salary.
Partner-Chapter Connecting:
- Reviewing Partnership Proposal Forms to match community-based organizations with new GlobeMed chapters.
- This portion of the fellowship takes place at the GlobeMed National Office in Evanston, IL and lasts for one month.
- This portion of the fellowship is stipended with $500 to cover living expenses.
