Chapter websites have arrived!
by Peter Luckow on August 14, 2008
I'm thrilled to announce that we have just launched our first chapter website! GlobeMed at Northwestern worked closely with the Central Staff over the past two months to develop the design and content for their website. Over the next few weeks, several other well-established chapters will be launching chapter websites as well. GlobeMed at Northwestern's website will serve as a model as additional sites are developed.
These new websites will be a powerful tool for chapters, enabling them to maximize their efforts in building a movement for global health equity. On campus, chapters will use their websites to better coordinate their efforts and to reach out to more students. The events page will list all of the upcoming meetings and GlobeMed events, so both GlobeMed members and new students will always be up to date with the chapter's schedule. At the click of a button students, professors, and community members will be able to learn about the chapter's partner & project, their impact, and ways to get involved.
Each chapter website will be tightly integrated into the main GlobeMed site (www.globemed.org) and other chapter sites. On every webpage throughout globemed.org, you will be able to instantly navigate to any chapter's homepage by clicking on the Find a Chapter drop-down menu in top right corner of the page (see image below!).

This looks amazing! I can't wait to see what everyone else has been up to!And a quick question: will chapters have the ability to personalize their websites? For example, GlobeMed at Truman has a few online apps (suggestion box, online excuse form, etc.) that we'd like to keep because they are pretty nifty.

Hey Christine,Thanks for the feedback. We are still trying to gauge the ability to add things like online apps throughout the page.
We should be able to get them going. I'll definitely work with you and the rest of the Truman crew to ensure we can get your website working in a way that is up to your standards!
