Article 25: The GlobeMed Blog header

Kicking the blog into gear

by Peter Luckow on August 15, 2008

The series of tubes that make up the internet are connecting people throughout the world in unprecedented ways.  As the internet has become increasingly accessible in the developing world, it has become an essential tool for communicating with our partners around the world.  Additionally, we have begun to use various web tools to increase communication and collaboration amongst GlobeMed chapters throughout the country.

Over the coming weeks, we will be kicking into gear this here blog to further connect students, supporters, and partners across our network.  We will use the blog to share updates and announcements from across our Network, facilitate GlobeMed-related discussions, and post compelling global health news and articles.  Authors will include members from the GlobeMed Central Staff, guest chapter leaders, and (if all goes according to plan) global health professionals.

We hope that you will join in on the conversation by posting comments in the section below!

Also, be sure to check out the blogs of two students from GlobeMed at Northwestern as they spend the month working with their partner in Ghana:  Jon Shaffer (http://adventuresinhealth.blogspot.com/ ) and Colleen Fant (http://colleenfant.blogspot.com/).
