GlobeMed at Truman hosts a year-long series of on-campus global health discussions, workshops, and lectures as part of its globalhealthU curriculum. Through these events, GlobeMed members develop a foundational understanding of issues impacting our partner organizationand global health more broadly.

For the 2008-2009 academic year, GlobeMed at Truman will be exploring the following issues:

  • Introduction to Global Health (Sept-Oct)
  • Health, Poverty, and Structural Violence (Nov-Dec)
  • Development. International Aid, and Globalization (Jan-Feb)
  • Health and Human Rights (Mar-Apr)
  • Gender and Global Health (Jun-Jul)

Past Events

GlobeMed at UNC meets every Wednesday from 7:30-9:30 in Dey 206.  We have a globalhealthU session for the first half hour and then break out into our respective committees.

  • Wednesday, October 22 -We watched "Their Brothers Keepers"
