Student Engagement in Global Health with Michael Diamond

Michael Diamond, who has been instrumental to the development of student-driven global health efforts at Northwestern, will share his thoughts and ideas with students at DePaul. Come learn about how to not only get involved in GlobeMed at DePaul's efforts to advance health infrastructure in Guatemala, but also to hear about student engagement in the global health arena more broadly. Michael Diamond has a long history of leadership in this field (see bio below), so it should be an informative and inspiring time!

Michael Diamond is the President of World Resources Chicago, a consulting firm in Chicago which helps businesses and organizations respond to global challenges and opportunities. He is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University and DePaul University. Previously, he was the Executive Director of The Global Chicago Center of The Chicago Council on Foreign Relations. For more than 25 years, Michael worked with refugee, rehabilitation and social and economic development programs around the world. For nine years, he was the Division Manager of Humanitarian Programs of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International and in that capacity he managed PolioPlus, Rotary’s global program to eradicate polio. For 15 years he worked with the international YMCA and lived in Bangladesh, Switzerland and finally came to Chicago. Through his humanitarian work he was visited 45 countries and has worked with people in over 150 countries. He received his M.A. in Medical/Social Anthropology from the New School for Social Research in New York. | |
