Quickribbon Staff Positions – GlobeMed

 

 

 

GlobeMed is currently searching for full time staff members (Chapter Advisors and a Director of Development) to work at the National Office in Evanston, IL. Applicants may apply for both positions, but must submit completely separate applications for each -- separate emails, cover letters, and resumes. Pay and benefits will be commensurate with experience.

 

Individuals should be able to commit to working a minimum of two years to their respective position.

 

 

Chapter Advisor

 

Chapter Advisors train and advise chapters by working directly with their leadership on an ongoing basis. Chapter Advisors will:

 

  • Advise, train, and support chapter presidents to run high-impact chapters and reach network-wide goals. (50%)
  • Work with the National Office staff to strengthen chapter programs. (20%)
  • Communicate chapter progress through newsletters, updates and online chapter content. (10%)
  • Help organize the Summit and the Leadership Institute, specifically the training of new chapter founders. (10%)
  • Coordinate chapter founder process, partner match process, and partner search fellows program. (10%)

Qualifications:

 

  • Has extensive leadership experience with a GlobeMed Chapter (preferably a past president).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Some experience counseling, tutoring, or mentoring preferred.
  • Creative, motivated, passionate about global health equity.
  • Sense of humor.

 

Director of Development

 

The Director of Development works to grow and strengthen GlobeMed's network of supporters in order to generate resources    and engage more advocates in the movement for global health equity. The Director of Development will:

 

  • Engage individual supporters through giving campaigns and events, working alongside the Board of Directors. (40%)
  • Oversee research, strategy, and proposals for major grants through foundations and corporations. (35%)
  • Oversee all organizational communication, including marketing materials, email blasts, and websites. (15%)
  • Support chapter fundraising. (10%)

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Excellent writing skills with very strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with and coordinate a variety of people (e.g. Board of Directors, other staff, donors, chapter leaders, volunteers, and informal advisors).
  • Willingness to work 'behind the scenes' when needed.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, event planning, or online giving (as well as social media/web design) a plus.
