We are excited to announce two full-time staff openings at GlobeMed's national office in Evanston, IL. Available full-time position: Director of Development
The Director of Development works to secure and mobilize resources to support organizational operations and growth, in an effort to grow and strengthen the breadth, capacity, and impact of GlobeMed’s global network.
This is a full time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week, but must be willing to commit longer hours during peak periods including weekends and evenings as needed. Salary is commensurate with experience, plus health insurance.
Primary Responsibilities (Director of Development)
• Work closely with Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement organizational Fundraising strategy (40%)
• Develop and oversee all organizational communication, including marketing materials, social media and websites (20%)
• Manage and oversee administrative processes associated with development (15%)
• Support and manage National Office student staff with communications and alumni programming (15%)
• Support Director of Partnerships on grant research and development (10%)
Required Qualifications (Director of Development)
• Minimum 2 year commitment
• Willingness to relocate to Chicago area (Evanston, IL office is 13 miles north of downtown Chicago near Northwestern University’s campus)
• Bachelors degree minimum
• Excellent writing skills with high attention to detail
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with and coordinate a variety of people (e.g. Board of Directors, other staff, donors, chapter leaders, volunteers, and informal advisors)
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience
• Familiarity with grant writing and event planning
• High level of initiative and passion for GlobeMed’s mission
Preferred Qualifications (Director of Development)
• Experience in student leadership development and proven ability to engage and work with students; willingness to meet students outside of normal business hours
• Communications, marketing, and/or design background
Available full-time position: Program Director
This individual will be one of two Program Directors at GlobeMed's national office, helping to shape GlobeMed's programs and advising GlobeMed student leaders throughout the academic year to lead highly effective GlobeMed chapters. Additionally, he/she will help support the expansion of GlobeMed's programs including our annual national conference, year-long global health educational curriculum, and work with grassroots partners addressing health inequities around the world.
This is a full time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week, but must be willing to commit longer hours during peak periods including weekends and evenings as needed. Salary is commensurate with experience, plus health insurance.
Primary Responsibilities (Program Director)
• Advise, train, and support chapter presidents to run high-impact chapters and reach network-wide goals (50%)
• Work with the National Office to strengthen chapter programs (15%)
• Communicate chapter progress through updates and online media (15%)
• Help organize the annual GlobeMed Global Health Summit and the Leadership Institute, specifically the training of new chapter founders (10%)
• Coordinate chapter founder process and partner match process (10%)
Qualifications (Program Director)
• Minimum 2 year commitment
• Willingness to relocate to Chicago area (Evanston, IL office is 13 miles north of downtown Chicago near Northwestern University’s campus)
• Bachelors degree minimum
• Has extensive leadership experience with a GlobeMed Chapter (preferably a past president).
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Some experience counseling, tutoring, or mentoring preferred
• Creative, motivated, passionate about global health equity
• Sense of humor

GlobeMed's national office engages and trains student leaders from these chapters to improve global health.
