GlobeMed at Truman State’s Vice President Featured in University Newspaper

Brian Hilliard, Vice President of GlobeMed at Truman State, was recently featured in a news story in the university's student newspaper. The article highlighted Brian's work with GlobeMed and how his exposure to poverty in an under-developed country shaped his future career goals.
GlobeMed allowed Hilliard to travel to the Dominican Republic last summer to create a culturally competent educational video on safer pregnancies for the rural farming communities. Brian says that, "I knew I wanted to work with the underserved, but I think this (GlobeMed) has really cultivated and expanded my desire to work with some of the social inequalities and injustices throughout the world." Brian will return to the Dominican Republic this summer with 7 other GlobeMed members to evaluate the effectiveness of their video.
