GlobeMed Co-Founder, Victor Roy, Discusses the Policy Challenges Facing Equitable TB Treatment

Victor Roy, one of the Co-Founders of GlobeMed and current member of the Board of Directors, gave a talk at the Buffett Center for International and Comparative Studies at Northwestern University titled, "A Social Strategy for Global Health Equity." In his talk, he outlined how "the [policy] field has changed overt time" regarding the issue of treating Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB) in place of poverty and how the hard-work and advocacy of Partners In Health has been successful in driving this change.
"In the wake of PIH's initiative, the WHO launched the DOTS-Plus program and organized the Green Light Commission that worked to persuade pharmaceutical companies to reduce drug prices," Roy said.
