Jon Shaffer, Co-President
Jon is a senior at NU majoring in biomedical engineering and minoring in global health. He grew up near Portland Oregon, and enjoys running, hiking, and loves to go to concerts. Jon also has a budding passion for fine sweaters as well as miniature model trains.
Nikita Kohli, Co-President
Nikita is a senior at Northwestern majoring in bio with a minor in global health. She joined GlobeMed in her freshman year and has been an avid consumer of everything global health from structural violence to grassroots partnerships to solidarity in the field. In her spare time, she enjoys reading the Washington Post religiously, rooting for the Washington Redskins football team, and exhibiting excessive amounts Washington, DC pride.
Sarah Mihalov, Director of Health Partnerships
Sarah is a senior anthropology major and global health studies minor. With hopes of expanding my knowledge of the HOPE center and global health (and even satisfying my desire to travel the world), I will be visiting the HOPE center with the GlobeMed team this August and September. I also enjoy running in the rain, scrapbooking, and trying new restaurants.

Lalith Polepedd, Director of Education & Training
Lalith is from Colorado and joined GlobeMed in his sophomore year. GlobeMed has allowed him to learn about concepts in global health equity and then directly apply them to our health partner projects. Outside GlobeMed, he enjoys riding his bike, playing frisbee, and drinking milk.
Gabriella Escobar, Director of Education & Training
Gabriela is a junior from Massachusetts and a math major in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. This is her third year with GlobeMed. She likes to sleep in late whenever she can and loves to eat-especially seafood.
Vanessa Lee, Director of Development
Vanessa is a senior anthropology major and global health minor in Northwestern's Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. Her passion for global health has led her to study and work in South Africa and Ghana, and on campus she has been involved with GlobeMed for four years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, working with Northwestern Dance Marathon, drinking coffee, and wearing fly sweaters.
Reema Ghateknar, Director of Development
Reema is a sophomore math major in Weinberg and also pre-med. GlobeMed has served as a perfect outlet for her interest in global health. Besides GlobeMed, Reema loves going to concerts, flying back home to California, and anything and everything Disney.
Allyson Westling, Director of Development
Allyson is a sophomore biochem major, pre-med, and global health minor in Northwestern's Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. She is involved in Best Buddies International, long-distance running club, Chi Omega Sorority, and Globemed here at Northwestern. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, running, scuba diving, skiing, and having great conversations with friends!
Tiffany Wong, Director of Newsletter
Tiffany is undeclared at Northwestern. She enjoys literature classes, global health studies, sleeping and playing dress up.
