The GlobeMed Network
Who's in the Network
The core of the GlobeMed Network is composed of student-led Chapters at universities across the country and the Central Staff based in Evanston, IL.
Central Staff
GlobeMed's central staff trains student-leaders, organizes network-wide programs and events, and provides financial and legal services for Chapters. The Central Staff is composed primarily of recent graduates and students and is an independent tax-exempt 501-c(3) non-profit organization.
Chapters
Chapters are at the heart of GlobeMed's model of engaging students to make an impact in the health of communities around the world. Each Chapter partners with a grassroots organization in a developing country to collaborate on specific projects, organize educational programs on campus, and lead trips to work with partners in communities abroad.
GlobeMed Chapters are at the following schools.
Core Qualities of the GlobeMed Network
By being part of the GlobeMed Network, our Chapter joins together with an impressive movement of students working for a common purpose and vision of the world.
Through the Network, we as students:
Share successes
GlobeMed Chapters share their successes (and struggles!) with their peers from across the campus through regular conference calls, an online Intranet, and other forums such as annual Leadership Institute and annual Global Health Summit. From leading an effective trip to organizing a successful fundraising Campaign, students use each other as an effective resources in their work.
Create lasting friendships
Students in GlobeMed are not only part of a community of future leaders for global health but also build lasting relationships that become the foundation for an even stronger commitment to the field of global health.
Engage in dialogue and reflection
Through network-wide programs such as globalhealthU, GlobeMed members engage in dialogue and reflection on global health issues, building critical thinking skills and gaining new knowledge from experts and their own peers.
