Featured Event: "A Night for Global Health"

A Night for Global Health will be held on the evening of April 5, 2008. The benefit dinner will be an energizing and inspirational closing to a weekend of events from GlobeMed’s Global Health Summit. The dinner will bring together GlobeMed members across the network and supporters from around the Chicago area. Attendees can enjoy a keynote address, food, entertainment, and a silent auction! All proceeds will benefit projects during 2008-2009 year.

Students wishing to attend the dinner are asked to contribute $30, in addition to the registration fee. Preceding the event, GlobeMed chapters will participate in a poster exhibition to display their health projects and initiatives which is open to the general public.

For more information on the benefit dinner and for questions about non-student attendance, please email development@globemed.org.

Lodging will be provided for summit participants. If you are a student or chapter traveling to the summit please have travel information, itineraries, and lodging preferences submitted as soon as possible.

**NOTE: Applications are no longer being accepted.**
We are pleased to announce the GlobeMed Summit Travel Scholarship Fund. These funds will be allocated to individuals based on their application and need. Concurrent registration for the GlobeMed Summit is required for scholarship funding to be considered. This funding is for travel to the summit only (airline, train, car mileage, etc).

Special Programs

This year the summit will enable chapter members to become active leaders during the weekend through two great programs:

Student-led Roundtables

GlobeMed members will be able to lead presentations and discussions on topics of their choice. The purpose is to engage and encourage participants to talk about issues of global health and student involvement among groups of passionate students! To apply to become a Roundtable leader please read the document below for guidelines and recommendations. **NOTE: The proposal deadline of March 1, 2008 has passed.**

Project Exhibition

Chapters will be invited to submit a formal poster focused around the theme of communities documenting their projects and partnerships. These will be presented prior to the Banquet on the final day of the Summit. Email secretary@globemed.org for details on the project exhibition.
